I want Plex to play the content I have. I’m not interested in trailers for movies I don’t have.
How do I turn this unwanted intrusion off.
Cheers.

In Plex Web go to Settings > Server > Extras. You’ll find several options regarding trailers there.
Or, if you want to disable trailers altogether, edit your Movie library, go to the Advanced page, and uncheck the “Enable cinema trailers” option.
If talking about a way to control the downloaded trailers that is a “Plex Pass only” feature the reply by @beckfield works perfectly.
Since the OP doesn’t appear to have the Plex Pass badge, we are probably talking about the trailers that have recently popped up in several apps, (Roku, Android, etc) and there is absolutely no way to turn them off. If there is, the options are very well hidden. For those of us with a Plex Pass, the trailers completely ignore the options we have selected anyway, and disabling everything has no effect.
This new unwanted feature obviously needed a little more planning before it was implemented, because trailers for “R” rated movies should not show up in the library I created with content appropriate for my 10 year old and younger grandchildren. C’mon Plex, turn them all off completely until you get it right.
Oops, forgot that was a Plex Pass feature. Sorry. Also wasn’t aware of the new ‘feature.’ That sounds like a pretty bad mistake.
