Ever since I upgraded to any of the 1.7 versions of the server, I have been noticing a few issues. Here is what I have noticed
I have a 2 tuner HD homerun and from time to time it will show that up to 14 shows are recording both in recording schedule section and in the Settings >DVR section. If I restart the server, I lose the recordings but the DVR starts recording correctly again.
The DVR will stop the recording in the middle of the recording. It will save how much it got but it will stop part way through
I have checked for signal quality issues but I have a roof top antenna and the station is close. I do not have issues with the channel when watching it and this only just started happening since I upgraded to 1.7. Before that the files would record no problem. As well, I will go in sometimes when the show is recording to see what the quality is like and it looks perfect through the HD Homerun app on the same channel at the time it is recording. I will definitely grab a screen shot of the more than 2 recordings going on at the same time the next time it happens.
It just tried to record a movie and it only made it to 1 hour and 8 minutes of the movie. The picture looks clear as a bell through the whole recording and I can provide you with the video file if it would help your investigation and I also had the debugging log activated at the time if you would like that as well @keithah
Both House arrest and concrete blondes in the screenshot I attached failed. House arrest failed at 1:08:00 and concrete Blondes failed at around 20:00 minutes earlier today. The recordings appear perfect and were recorded with a rooftop antenna.
I can restart the server and it will work fine for the tuner issue for a little while but the video recording issue is intermittent the whole way through.
I’m going to try installing an older version of the server just to be able to avoid this issue cause it’s starting to cause me to lose a good portion of my recordings since now the ones that show as still recording will not complete and just disappear even when i restart the server
I have the same problem. It may be a signal strength issue, but is has been working flawlessly for weeks until the recent version upgrades. When I looked at the status it showed 2 transcode sessions running and when I terminated those it wrote out the files, but they were all truncated to just a few seconds.
Same issue here on my server. See attached logs as well. This happened on 1.7.3, & several versions prior. Poor reception is not the issue for me. Once this bug occurs all subsequent recordings fail. I rolled back to 1.5.6 until this is resolved. 1.5.6 does not seem to have this issue. It is a showstopper.
Tuner is only used with PLEX, and was working fine for the first few versions of the DVR beta. It does record and properly save content until…whatever error happens. At which point all future recordings fail as (as well as the current recordings) and PLEX media server itself eventually becomes increasingly unstable until remote playback is unusable, and local playback has to have the quality severely reduced for smoothness, if left alone PMS will become unresponsive.
The screenshot is what it looks like from the PLEX web access when the DVR goes haywire. I took it of “todays” agenda view around 4:40PM local time on 6/19/17. The last show actually added to my library was a kids show recorded “yesterday” at 5pm. All the content in the screenshot with the full recording circle was not added to the library. See also that the DVR setting screen says that it is currently recording 19 to a two tuner homerun connect. As reported by others only stopping and restarting PMS resolves it, and only for a brief period. Reoccurrence usually happens within 24hrs.
Yeah hope so too since losing these recordings and having to restart my server, each time this happens, both stinks and sucks more than a bag of butts stuck in a vacuum.
