UK No HD channels Freeview - hauppauge dual hd dvb-t2 - linux

With plex i dont get any HD channels. From the logs ( there were no errors)

Does anyone else have HD channels working in the UK with the hauppauge dual hd dvb-t2 ?

After further research, and much groaning.

Basically when plex is scanning for channels it will find HD channels but try to use dvbt not dvbt2 then it will assume the scan has failed.

a shame this problem has existed for 3 years.

I’m trying to get hd channels working with this device on the shield tv.

On the shield, are you able to run any linux cli tools eg dvbv5-scan ?

I’m having a separate issue with getting the PMS updated on my Shield TV, but it’s not good to see that I’ll probably encounter further issues with getting it set up further down the line… :neutral:

No HD channels with WinTV-DualHD hooked up to a shield TV that is for certain - come on Plex fix it please

I have the same issue, no HD channels returned by the channel scan.

Also using the WinTV-Dual HD.

Sorry to hear, but at least it seems to be a common issue. I dont think this will be trivial to fix :neutral:

For what’s it’s worth, I’m having the same problem in Sweden with free HD channels;

I now have HD working for linux. The latest version from here https://github.com/b-rad-NDi/Ubuntu-media-tree-kernel-builder

I am using the 4.10 flavour. I have both tuners working, and HD recordings. DVB-T2 works

These are drivers included in ubuntu if I’m correct?

As I’m not using ubuntu I can’t install the deb packages in that post.

How do I get these drivers in unraid? I can only select libreELEC drivers which haven’t been updated to include this patch I don’t think?

I have the same issue with only being able to see DVB-T channels and not DVB-T2.
I’m based in the UK, running Ubuntu 18.04.
I have installed the drivers form PPA as per the Hauppauge website instructions (same as on the github).
Scans only bring up the SD channels.
Do you have any pointers?
