Plex not Finalizing DVR Recordings

Hi Folks.

I’m really enjoying Plex and the new features you’ve been adding since I purchased it.

I’ve had an issue with DVR recordings not finalizing. I’ve attached the image below to show what I mean. As you can see, 5 of the recordings still show the orange circle despite being it being well after the time they were supposed to complete. If I click them, the popup menu says they’re at 100%.

This error happens almost daily now, and I don’t see a reason for when it happens (i.e.: sometimes shows record). Usually, I have to restart Plex to get anything to record again, and when I do, the unfinalized episodes aren’t in my library.

I can’t be sure, but I think it started with the latest Plex update.

I am using Plex 1.7.5.4035 on a Synology 1515+ running the latest version of DSM.

As you gain more experience, you will learn to search for “pile of goo”. :smile:

I just upgraded to 1.8.0.4109. Let’s see what happens in regards to this issue.

I’m anxious to here if the new version fixes this issue before I upgrade again.

I’m still seeing this even on the latest.

Edit: When I forced everything to “Stop transcoding” my episodes showed up, but they weren’t in a viewable state. The DVR is essentially useless now.
