Support for Plex Live streams coming for Android OS that predate 6.3?

I have Plex Live up and running however I have several Android devices that are on preAndroid 6.3 releases. Will there be support for earlier versions of Android or do I need to flash 6.3+ ROMs to these devices? (specifically so I can watch live TV on these devices) I would rather not root these if possible.

This is what I see when trying to stream anything live via an OS that predates Android 6.3. I have a very powerful server with no other trans coding going on and I have 100 Mbps internet. The problem is I am on an earlier version of Android. Hoping support comes for earlier versions of Android to enable live streaming, anyone know?

Thank you, utilizing the “Use External Player” on the client side (running Android 6.0.1) worked! The external player I used was VLC. For anyone reading I found this in Settings>Advanced>Player on my Note 4 cell phone running 6.0.1.

From what I read “Direct Play” forces transcoding so by selecting the option in the picture above not only was VLC being used as an external player but Plex was also forcing transcoding (“Direct Play” forces this) by utilizing VLC as an external player to stream live TV. I couldn’t find an option where I could just transcode without the use of an external player.

Hoping that in the future those writing code for Plex allow for preAndroid 6.3 devices to utilize Plex as the client player for live TV so that my server CPU is not hit with the transcoding. Also, when utilizing VLC as an external player there is no option for time shifting. Just FYI for those reading.
