Login code expires almost instantly

The xbox one app (on an Xbox One S) gives me about 5 seconds to put in a code. Even when I appear to do it in time, it still expires on the xbox one.

This sounds exactly like https://forums.plex.tv/discussion/264947/xbox-one-s-plex-pin-expires-within-10-seconds except that thread said the problem was resolved (on the old version of the app)

I think plex was hacked again.

Same problem here, with a standard Xbox One. I’ve been using the previous version of the Plex app with little or no trouble for a long time now, but wanted to try the new ‘Plex for Xbox One’ version that’s been released.

The old version still works fine, but if I launch the new one then I get stuck in the ‘Code Expired’ loop. Same thing, even if I do enter it in time, the app doesn’t link.

edit while typing this I was still trying to link the new app and going back and forth to my server to check things. Eventually it has actually seemed to link, but it took a lot of attempts. Even then, the first time it got passed that I got an error about not being able to retrieve my settings and asking me if I wanted to continue as my Xbox Live user anyway, which I did. The app then opened, but I couldn’t see any media from my server. I quit the app, re-opened it and it’s now working fully.

So, I’ve posted this anyway, as although it seems to be working for me now, it does seem there’s a problem here.

I am in the Xbox Insider Program, with latest update available to me installed.

Console: Xbox One (original day one console)
OS version: 10.0.16299.3033 (rs3_release_xbox_dev_1710.171018-1900)

OK, so another update to that last one. It seemed to be working ok, but after playing a few music tracks, I went back to the Plex home page in the app and it had lost access to my server. Coming out of the app and back in, it’s back to wanting to link again and I’m stuck in the ‘code expired’ loop. Given that it only worked for a few minutes last time, I’m not going through the multiple re-tries and hassle of trying to link it again.

Operations is working on it.
One of the servers keeps falling out of the cluster and disturbing everything.
I’ll report back when fixed.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks @ChuckPA

To confirm,

This is normal login and not linking ?

I think with both. I had started old xbox app 1.8.0 and when linking wasn’t working I’ve tried login in.
Then I’ve realized that there is new Plex for xbox one app and here same again, linking ain’t working.

Ok.

I’m working with Operations now. Trying to resolve which isn’t working since everything is reporting normal status (one of the boxes lies! haha but not funny)

This is for linking the app

Doesn’t Plex have an offline mode?

Yes and no. Plex can run without internet but it functions will be limited.

Is this why I get the credentials have expired error?

Most likely yes.

Hi!
I’m having the same issue, the code expire almost immediately and event if plex.tv/link says account linked, on the app nothing happened.
After more than 10 tries, I finally got the home screen but after 2 minutes, it logged me out…
I have the old xbox one with the last update and the new plex app.
Even the old app is doing the same, but I finally managed to re-link it with the email and pass login.
Uninstalling and re-installing both apps + rebooting the console didn’t do anything.

Update from OPs. This is the incident on the status page.

Worked perfectly now, thanks for the quick response!

Thank you!
