why is my server relayed on a enabled remote access?

remote access is enabled and it says it’s accessable out side my network but when I log on in my network I keep gettin 1" relayed connection ":why when remote access is enabled and the icon is green so why 7s there a relay connection.

I think they are having issues with remote access right now. I just lost the ability to access Plex via my proxied subdomain a little bit ago and can’t get remote access enabled successfully now.

Still able to access the server via IP:PORT but any attempt to enable remote access is failing.

Yeah I had to go in the router an setup the port an in settings it says it’s fully accessable and the checkmark is green, I have the latest release of plex, but I have the original server before they added all these dvr and news fetures, I think I am gonna try an older version an see if it changes bc the quality on a relayed connection sucks.

When you get ‘Indirect’ when you’re inside your home network, then it has to do with your router/ISP.

Good to know… I’m seeing the same thing and have spent way too many hours on it thinking it’s a problem on my end. Glad to hear I’m not the only one struggling with it.

I’m thinking this would be a great opportunity for a post in the “Product and Service Announcements” forum so we know not to spin our wheels trying to fix a problem that’s not on our end.

or something at https://status.plex.tv/ would be nice too

same here, 2 servers on the same network working for almost 2 years.
Since yesterday with indirect conection.

please fix this asap.

Something seems to be changing. Remotely, my iPad will now connect to the DiskStation through Wifi (“Remote” connection), while my iPhone, sitting right beside it and on the same network, will do an “Indirect” connection only. I’d expect them to exhibit the same behavior…

Then again, now iPad does an indirect connection, iPhone won’t connect at all. Perhaps that’s a sign that the good folks at Plex are working on the problem.

please fix this asap.

Many people are reporting this issue on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/PleX/comments/7l6euu/direct_connection_unavailable/
Nobody found the fix yet.

Wish I had known about this before spending about 8 hours over the last day trying to fix it.

I’m an idiot for not checking reddit.

I hear you. I kinda figured by now someone from Plex would make a post about it being a known issue… sounds like next time I should check reddit as well as the plex status and plex announcements forums.

Me too, same problem.

Have same issue, started this afternoon.

Same issue, started yesterday

same here… started today

One problem has been identified on plex.tv
There is work underway to mitigate it for you guys.
I’ll keep you posted.
