why is my server relayed on a enabled remote access?

We have deployed a fix on our plex.tv side to mitigate this issue in the cases where some Plex Media Server’s are not publishing correctly. This does not affect all users, but for those it does, the issue should now be resolved if you restart Plex Media Server.

Mines back up and running. Thank you!!

I’m thinking this would be a great opportunity for a post in the “Product and Service Announcements” forum so we know not to spin our wheels trying to fix a problem that’s not on our end.

They have fixed it (nice work!) but it would indeed be far more professional if they had put up a notification. I’ve spent at least three hours on a RCA and didn’t find anything wrong at my end. Before I started digging, I’ve checked Plex.tv to see if they were having issues with their service, but not a word about it… one little post/notifications would have saved me a lot of time.

They weren’t aware of a problem with plex.tv until a short time before the fix was rolled out (after investigations by ChuckPA led them to what the issue was). Hard to make a wide announcement when you don’t know there’s a problem.

awsome, guy, great job thank you. it seems to be working like before and is fully accessable remotely and relay is gone even on home network…

Well I restarted PLEX today, 2/23/18, and when going back into remote access everything was a go. A few moments it changed to Not available outside your network.

I guess there is still a problem.

Hopefully this post will be read by someone that can fix this and it will be fix

Is this problem fixed?
Just installed Plex a few weeks ago and have been spinning my wheels trying to figure it out. Followed all of their tutorials. I have a pretty common network.
There are quite a few posts on this issue that go back many years. Is this an ongoing issue?
Should I not bother trying and just use their relay. That seems to work.
Any word on this is appreciated.
