NEW:
Plex Media Server 0.9.9.1 is now available to Plex Pass holders.
- (API) Add audio and sub stream language as possible filters.
It is already technically possible and filter by caption, but no app has implemented this filter, why?

Would be neat. If it can be done by a “symbol” that do it

So what would you put in case of English? The US flag, the UK flag or the England flag? I think that might become an issue. It’s not only for English by the way, there’s lots of languages that might cause an issue. For Dutch for example usually the flag of the Netherlands is used. However, in case of animated (children) movies this might be different as there might as well be a Dutch version for the Netherlands AND one for Belgium (aka Flemish). I think it might be more complicated than it looks … or I’m just over thinking it
it would also be good to have multiple flags shown if there is more than one audio track
I like this idea. I know always exactly what subs there are but my girlfriend doesn’t.

It could also be the option to filter by the subtitle language

That would be a neat feature. A vote from me.
Could we please extend this to available audio track languages as well? At least for movies that offer extra or totally different languages from the one you have selected as your main language.
And yes, please allow me to filter on that one as well. There are evenings when the audience is requesting a certain language and I always have to fire up Windows Explorer to find them based on file name as I just cannot remember.

+1 would definately make it even more user friendly
I agree with bollewolle that there are some languages where this may have problems Dutch and Chinese (Cantonese Chinese and Mandarin Chinese have no separate audio flag or subtitle flag and are both classified as “chi (Chinese)”) being just two of the probably many more out there.
I suggest having an option to also display the track name as well as the country flags as this remove confusions for languages where there is only one language flag in the codec information and for multiple tracks of a single language where there are special feature audio tracks such as cast or crew commentary.
