Remote Access

I appreciate your help but I’m not doing something right. The port tool check says error no route to host and I followed your instructions above. I made a port forward rule on my router for external port 45612 and internal 32400. I’m missing a step somewhere.

No need for any port tool - just using http://canyouseeme.org and typing 45612 in the box where it is initially set to 80

Just verified and no double NAT? I feel like just canceling my plex and forgetting all of this.

I am afraid when remote access fails to work - one does need to have some patience in troubleshooting and normally one would be expected to provide screenshots of the whole setup and debug Plex Media Server.log after restarting the server and retrying the remote access with the manually specified port of 45612 set.

Screenshots that are relevant:

  • evidence that your local ip for the server is static outside dhcp range or dhcp reserved within the router
(router dhcp settings + server ip configuration info)
  • evidence to confirm that mtu size is 1500 or less within router / network card
  • port forward table showing setup
  • confirmation that upnp table does not have duplicate routes to 32400 affecting the NAT operation
  • remote access show advanced settings for PMS confirming manually specify port ticked and 45612 entered
