0.2.0 - No way to SSH - Connection refused

After upgrading to the latest version (from .36) , with SSH enabled, I get a connection refused on port 22 when I try to SSH into Rasplex. I tried to disable and reenable it, reboot, no luck. I'm locked out.

I don't know if it is related but before upgrading, Rasplex would show on my network as "Openelec" (I would use ssh root@openelec.local to access it), whereas now Rasplex shows up as "Rasplex".

The hostname changed to rasplex with 0.2.0. I've already added a note to the release-notes.

Please try to connect to rasplex.local and report feedback.

(The default password for user root is still rasplex)

I`ve been using the rasplex name all along and ssh connection is refused, i have used rasplex.local and the ip address for the pi.

i`ve tried to toggle ssh on and off, reboot and so on.

This seems to be a issue since various people have reported problems here. I'm still unable to reproduce this.

Is this still not working after a fresh install?

I'm writing a fresh image to the SD card now (0.2.0) . Will let you know shortly.

Ok, so after formatting the SD card, this is what's happening.

SSH now works, but there is for sure something funny going on, see below:

- In my Finder, Rasplex shows up both as Openelec and Rasplex. When using a hostname though, I can only connect to openelec.local, while rasplex.local is not resolved.

- During the setup wizard, Rasplex proposed the name "Openelec" (I clicked next without changing it)

- I enabled SSH during the wizard.

- I still can log in as plexuser

The above is a minor issue for me though but you might want to have a look, the important thing is that there is a way to SSH to the machine!

I observed this during development but it should already be fixed... I'll take a look at this again. But maybe just a build-system problem and this is fixed with 0.2.1 too...

I made a fresh install because it would not upgrade from .40 to 0.2.0 and no Way it Will let me get in :frowning:

It's possible to upgrade without SSH: https://github.com/RasPlex/RasPlex/wiki/Update

Is SSH working now?

Had the same issue with ssh when going to .40. I just flashed 0.2.1 from scratch but ssh still isnt working.

I'm on .37 and i have the same issue. I'm updating to 0.2.1 right now, i'll tell you if it works

SSH is working for me - I was not able to reproduce any SSH issue.

Please re-check the used IP or hostname you've used. (the default hostname is rasplex now!)

If it's still not working: Try a clean install of 0.2.1.

I didn't succeed in update via the updater, and ssh wasn't working, so I did a clean install.

hopefully, it's working with a clean install, it's weird, 'cause it used to work on .37, and it suddenly stopped..

I just updated from .36 and have the same issue, no ssh and two hostnames when activating samba. I changed the original hostname to "piplex" in the installation wizard.

I use the ip to connect to my box, not the hostname.

Did the clean installation a 2nd time which solved the ssh problem for some odd reason.

I  upgraded through the updater from 0.1.37 to 0.2.1, and SSH now no longer works. Toggling it off and on doesn't seem to fix the problem.

Is the only solution to this a clean wipe and fresh install? I'd hate to lose all of the custom skins and key mapping I've done :(

Might sound stupid but make sure that you explicitly turned on SSH during the wizard or in the preferences.

I mention this because, at least in my case, prior to 0.2.0 SSH was available even if not turned on from the UI.

I did turn it on in the preferences. I also tried turning it off and on. No dice!

The ssh toggle is missing on my rasplex ver 0.2.1 but i found out that if i toggeled it off and on again from the serup wizard i could get ssh working.

Please provide some logfiles and I will look into that issue. It’s only possible to point you to a clean install without further information…
