0.9.16.1 - After Install, minutes later, Server Error 500 - Rolled Back to 0.9.16.0

Mine wasn’t minutes later, but this happened to me after about 3 hours on Windows. Last version was rock solid. Restarted PMS and all working again… for now.

Similar problem also had to roll back, sorry i don’t have any good logs but i noticed that on a client you already had open all the cover art would disappear until your restarted the server. Ended up getting multiple complaints from people who use my server that it was having issues. so had to roll back without grabbing to much out of the logs.

Seems ok to me

Linking to similar problem. Plex is aware of the issue and working on a fix.

No, it absolutely isn’t OK. I’ve got this same 500 error multiple times tonight. Only change was upgrading. Previously stable. Really virulent bug. Only way I can get it working again is to close the Plex server and restart. It otherwise appears to be fine when it crashes.

Same here was perfect on previous release , this new release would sever error every 30 mins or so, rolled back now perfect again!

Same issue, ended up rolling back after restarting PMS a few times after it crashed. roll back works great again.

Rolled back and is OK now. That was a particularly bad release!

First release in I can’t remember how long that had a bug. Meh.

how do you easily roll back on a windows 7 machine? this version is total bunk…

You uninstall 0.9.16.1 and install 0.9.16.0.

Whew, I’m glad to see is not just me. I was afraid I messed something up. No big deal, these things happen.

Dude, relax - just roll back to the version linked here. It takes 5 minutes and it doesn’t impact your DB or movies in any way. Things will just be where you last left off. Crashes suck but this isn’t a regular thing.

Yeah people overreacting way too much here.

HI Guys

MY issues are more profound i cannot roll back, i cannot repair it is just stuck,

Here are my LOGS

Please, can somebody help me get my Plex back.

Dale

Update Fixed i rebooted and run the repair feature again, but it worked this time.

Isn’t this an “early access” version of something like that? It’s perfectly acceptable to have bugs in an early access release, isn’t it? For the official release, that’s a different story.

I wonder why you cannot roll back? Do you get an error when you tell Windows to uninstall Plex?

I am not fluent in “PlexiLog” but the uninstall should go without hitch or produce some Windows error message?

@chris0583, I had to ask the same question. It truly is as simple as
uninstalling via control panel and reinstalling the previous version. Once
you restart the server, all your data will be right were you left it.

@mjovanovic, That was easily read differently that I intended for it to
come out. My bad for it being poorly written and in response to what
someone else had said. Yes, I know, easily remedied (once you know how,
which I didn’t fully at the time) but what I was responding to was the
person who said it was “OK” for them. Several people, including myself, had
many issues with the server just stopping (and extremely frustrated family
members befuddled as to whey the TV didn’t work for evening watch time). I
agree that Plex generally does a fantastic job and I wouldn’t be a long
time lifetime PlexPass member if I thought otherwise. But to say that this
release is OK, isn’t fair either. Hope that makes sense now. It’s OK for
there to be a problem but the problem does indeed exist and that is what I
was trying to say. Sorry if it sounded like I was being hard on Plex.
