1.18.1.1973 kills remote access

Server Version#: PlexMediaServer-1.18.1.1973
Player Version#:

This version appears to stop remote access working.
It works fine on my home network machines, but using the Plex app remotely I get ‘Server unreachable’ message.
Downgrading to PlexMediaServer-1.18.1.1966 fixes the problem.

Thanks for posting this. I mentioned it in another thread. I can’t post logs right now, but what I saw when trying to debug it, there wasn’t anything unusual. For me, it happens on Ubuntu Server 18.04.3 LTS. Doesn’t seem that it is necessarily specific to OS or device.

Sadly, I don’t have the skillset to debug anything!
Hopefully by reporting it the makers can investigate further.
I’m using a Synology DS118 Nas

Thanks for the ‘heads Up’

The download is there but remote access still gets killed when upgrading from 1966.

I replied but I’m not sure where it went. Hope it didn’t double-post.

The release notes are for Version 1.18.1.1973 but the page shows Version 1.18.1.1966 and the install itself doesn’t happen. It downloads but install just kills Plex.

OP and me were having the same issue but different devices (I’m on Ubuntu 18.04.3). Signing out and reclaiming the server worked though to fix remote access. I had this happen on two separate servers. If that happens for a lot of people with headless devices, it’s going to be a pain in the rear-end.

see @Trump81’s response below

Both the files from earlier and now have the same file hash.
