Remote Access connect after update to 1.18.4.2153

Server Version#: 1.18.4.2153

Just Now, after updating to 1.18.4.2153 remote access stopped working.

It was working fine for Months, until this release was install, no changes to firewall, no changes to router, no changes to port forwarding; yes i checked the firewall rules and they stlll allow all plex processes.

Only change was updating to 1.18.4.2153, in fact there was a remote access in process when I downed plex to install the update, now plex will NOT enable remote access…

Neat.

1.18.4.2153 is apparently nuking PMS… there is another thread several of us have posted in… after hitting ‘install’ Plex gets deleted… :frowning:

Didn’t think anything about something like that happening… so I guess I am going to have to start over from scratch…

I don’t use the window version of PMS but everyone should be making backups for this this very reason. I also have a backup plan set in place for my nvidia shield. With a windows server it should be very easy to set up something like FreeFileSync and have like a one click backup for the folders in case this happens.

I’ll see there is a new release - 1.18.4.2164

Nope, this new one is a fail too for remote access

uninstalling and going back to PlexMediaServer-1.18.3.2129 which worked until i updated today.

I’m on Linux, so take this with a grain of salt BUT… I upgraded to 2153 (and since to 2164), and was remote. While staring at Plex web telling me my remote access wasn’t working, I was direct playing at original quality at a high Mbps rate on my android phone and looking at my Plex dashboard in another window confirming direct play.

So, not saying it isn’t a problem, but don’t trust the Plex Web remote access status…

thank you :+1:

I installed 3.2129, web status said it also failed remote, okay, so i then installed latest 4.2164 and look at that, remote is working per web status (lol)

Neat.
