Sounds like you’re on macOS 10.11.6 or maybe 10.12 where PMS is crashing on start with a compiler/packaging error about dynamic libraries. Whatever the reason, you should be able to open a terminal and drag the executable to the command line, hit Return to start PMS, and see the errors nicely (if you hate the console log like I do).
Can you confirm?

Not OP, but confirmed:

@tom80H do you know if this bug has made it to Plex’s radar yet?
I don’t want to bug BigWheel or someone if they’re way ahead of me ![]()
Nothing I’m aware of but I’ve noticed a few other posts → currently asking about it
Same issue for me
Same problem here since 2 days
On the plus side this finally forced me to move my Plex server from an aging Mac Mini to a Linux server I’ve had sitting idle for a while!
Can anyone on macOS 10.11 or 10.12 please test this build: https://artifacts.plex.tv/plex-media-server-experimental/1.29.2.6272-4fa3b21f9/macos/PlexMediaServer-1.29.2.6272-4fa3b21f9-universal.zip
This build seems to work for me on 10.12.6. Will monitor and update if I find issues.
Also running stable for me so far.
Worked for me. macOS 10.12.6
Although now I have the problem of “Server settings unavailable” No idea if it’s related ![]()
