I’ve got multiple recordings stuck at 100% since moving to 1.7.2.3878 (upgraded to address another issue with recording).
Here is what I see from the web interface (note the other shows in this state from yesterday):
When I looked through the Plex Media Server log for this particular show I see the following (including dates as they seem important):

When I look for this episode, I can see multiple copies (the .m4v are based on a script I used to convert .ts to m4v) but there seems to be loads of duplicates and none from 07/07:

It also looks like all subsequent recordings were not succesfully. Plex needed a restart to star functioning again. I pulled a snapshot of all logs in case they’d help figuring out why DVR recording hung.
@imcpwn Thanks - it looks like regularly restarting the Plex process also seems to get things back into a working state. I haven’t had a recording fail in the last 48 hours…but I’m never quite sure when recordings will fail again.
I noticed mine does something interesting when it gets stuck. It will get stuck at "100% - recording? and then basically record 24 additional hours of video and then stop. So each recording is 25 hours long.
Got stuck again. About 12 recordings…all in the same day. I cannot see that behavior…I’ve got a bunch of empty .grab folders. For me, the only pattern seems to be late night shows (from 22PM to 6AM)…I’m wondering if the Plex Scheduled Tasks is breaking the record as I’ve got EPG updates running then. I’m going to:
disable EPG updates during Scheduled Tasks
take the latest version Plex (though there is nothing interesting in the release notes)
update HDHomeRun firmware (as I suppose Plex is developing with the latest firmware)
Will see if that fixes things, then re-introduce EPG updates to see if that reintroduces the problem.
For my setup, there seems to be a correlation between playing Live TV through the Plex client on our Nvidia Shield (off of an other Plex server) and the timing of when the recordings start to fail.
Last night we started watching Big Brother at 8:10 as it was recording (stopping at 9:00), and it appears all shows set to complete recording after we finished watching Live TV failed:
And our Tuner Status shows the corresponding error:
Is anyone else seeing a similar situation with playing Live TV through Plex and recordings having issues?
I stopped playing with Live TV when I loaded 1.7.6. Prior versions of the 1.7.x version I was unable to record more than 2 shows and had many recordings abort. At one point I dropped back to 1.6.1 and was able to reliably record 6 shows across my tuners. When 1.7.6 was released I loaded it during some downtime in recordings and did some testing and was able to record 6 shows again at the same time with no failed recordings so I stayed on 1.7.6. When 1.8.0 we released I loaded it and did some more testing. I was still able to record 6 shows with no failed recordings so I have stayed on 1.8.0. The only thing Plex related that changed was I no longer use Live TV. I have speculated on other threads that something with the transcoding for Live TV is causing these issues possibly. I have no proff of this concept other than I don’t use Live TV anymore and am not having issues but was when I was using Live TV.

Thanks for the feedback!
I’ve further tested and have seen a direct correlation between when I select to watch Live TV from our Nvidia Shield (as a client only, server is on another machine) and when our tuners exhibit this issue. Every time I’ve run into this issue, a simple reboot of the server has resolved it.
