Thanks for adding the ability to skip forward or backward in the new video player. It is very helpful!
One thing I would ask is, is there a way to optimize this so it reacts faster? With the old player, it seems like it is almost instantaneous. But with the new player, it can take a half second or more each time you skip. It doesn’t seem like much, but it really slows things down when you are trying to quickly get where you want to go.
And more importantly, I think it’s important to match the performance of the old player in every way possible, otherwise, the users will feel that it is a step backward.
Regarding that delay: it has 2 parts, one is already fixed (for the next version) and the other part seems to be related to mpv itself and might be harder to tackle, we need time to investigate what’s wrong exactly.
