After the most recent updates, PMP on Windows has a completely different fast forward behavior. Before the update, clicking a right arrow or FF once button would move ahead 30 seconds and instantly begin playing at that point. If you held the FF button the progress bar would progress forward and you could see the flashing scenes of where you were in the video on screen. Now the FF button moves and there is about a 1 second delay before the video begins playing again, and if you hold the FF button, the progress bar moves forward, but the screen stays on the last scene played and you can’t tell ‘where you are’ in the video as you fast forward. That’s a big change and makes FF much less functional because you have to stop, allow the buffering and player to resume before you can see where you are and then continue to FF again over etc.
Is this as expected?

PMP for MacOS is the same. Much preferred the previous functionality, lets hope this is a bug rather than intended.
There are a couple other threads on this subject in the forums, but no mention from someone at Plex if/when this will get fixed. I reverted to 2.35 right after 2.36 came out (and disabled auto-update) because it’s just too annoying for words. They just released 2.37 and it has the same issue.
Same issue. Fetetert provided temporary solution below:
