1080p HDR playback

I have some 4K media transcoded down to 1080p but keeping HDR to optimize for storage space. Unfortunately, Plex for Apple TV stutters heavily when playing this. I know this is not a standard format per se, but is there a way to get this to work or do I need to give up the HDR and do SDR? Thanks.

I have several of these files and for me they play without issue.
I tend to use Infuse connected to Plex for movies quite often, however when using the native Plex app on the ATV 4K I haven’t had any issues.
