4K HDR Movie on Apple TV 1080p

Is there anyway to play back a 4K HDR movie on an Apple TV 1080p in a SDR version (via tone mapping or whatever means to adjust the colors correctly)? I’m sorry, but I cannot find anything on this subject when browsing the web.

plex does not support any tone mapping at this time.

in general, you are better off not trying to use 4k/hdr on non-hdr devices.

That’s what I was wondering on the tone mapping. Appreciate the feedback. I have 8 Apple TV’s but not all of them are Apple TV 4K. I still have three that are the newest 1080p models but looks like I’ll need to upgrade all of them apparently.
