2 NAS Server in one library?

Hi
I’m pretty new to this topic: I have a 16 TB WD My cloud home duo where I store all my movies and tv shows. I connected it successfully to my Plex Pass.
My problem is now that I run out of capacity on my NAS.

My question is: What happens when I buy a second 16 TB WD My cloud home duo for all my future films/tv shows and connect this to the same plex media server / plex pass? Are then still all movies displayed in the same library or do I have to switch between the servers? Which would suck because I just wanna have one movie library. Any help?

Hi, wouldn’t it be possible to create a Samba Access on the new Nas and save this location in Plex on the first Nas. The network load would go from Nas 2 to Nas 1 to your playback device.

How does this work? Like I said I’m new, I never heard of a Samba Access

If you server is on your Mac then you just connect the second NAS to the MAC the same way as you did the first one.

In the settings for your library you then add the folder of movies on your seconds NAS to it. ( libraries can have more than one folder/drive root folder. Click “browse media folder” and add the new path the save. In image below i have two separate folders from same drive but they can be from different drives.

I can’t find this ‘edit cinema’. I only found something where it says General and Advanced but no Add folders

EDIT LIBRARY and you will get a dialog pop up. 2nd item on the left.

Like I said before there is no second on the left calling Add folders. I attached a screen shot (german). I clicked on Movies (Filme) to see the three point, then Edit (bearbeiten) and then it says Mediathek bearbeiten (edit library) But as you can see only 2 topics on the left. What I’m I doing wrong?

HI again
I think I found the issue: I read in another forum that with the WD My cloud home NAS you can’t add any folders. Is this still true?

What else can I do to include my second NAS into the Plex library without having two separate libraries?

Yes it is a requirement of WD to us be on that device at all.

You need to run Plex Media Server on a computer or a NAS that supports it. The one you have is the only one that doesn’t.

( you tagged this topic server-mac which is why i posted that screenshot. Sorry i did not understand you were running the server on your NAS.)
