I am recently having a issue with 2 part movies not playing. I have the latest version of plex. I am using a Amazon Fire 2nd gen Cube with the plex app, there is no update available that I can tell. The files are named correctly in the folder as moviename-cd1 and moviename-cd2 and other files in the folder as well appear to be named correctly as 1 and 2 . These movies played fine in the past so I dont know what happened or changed other than taking normal plex server updates. It is really driving me nuts to watch like a hour of a movie and then done, Thoughts or resolve is greatly appreciated. Thanks .
Have you checked off those additional restrictions for multi-file movies?

Notes :
- Not all Plex apps support playback of stacked media
- All parts must be of the same file format (e.g. all MP4 or all MKV)
- All parts should have identical audio and subtitle streams in the same order
- Only stacks up to 8 parts are supported
- “Other Videos” libraries or those using the “Plex Video Files Scanner” do not support stacked content.
I have looked at this. My files are named correctly and look fine.
The best solution is to combine the files into one movie.

You can use Subtitle Edit if you’ve external SRT subtitles.
