2 servers on 1 Mac?

Hey all,

I’m slightly new to Plex, I’m not sure if this has been asked before (i did search.) I want to run 2 Plex servers from the same Computer, one would Hold “normal” Movies, TV Shows and Audio, The Other would hold my PR0N library (3.5tb.)

Currently, my library of “normal” files sits on a 16TB WD MY Book Duo, and my pron files is on a 4TB WD Elements Portable.

Is this possible? if it was possible would the other users be able to see the pron server or is there a way to make it private?

Thanks in advanced

it would not normally be possible because each server needs to listen on tcp port 32400 locally

Experiment with different libraries on same server and share only the libraries that you want to share with your server users

Hi,

Why dont you create separate user accounts and only give one account access to the PR0N?

That is not the issue - you can control access by sharing with different accounts snyway.

The issue here is whether you can have two instances of the Plex Media Server app running on the same machine. And the answer is no and having two separate accounts does not help since it is the tcp ip port that needs to be 32400 for the server and there can only be one app on a machine listening on a tcp port
