hi folks,

as of PMS 0.9.16.6 any media i add to current libraries, PLEX is unable to show a Thumbnail of media added. metadata works as expected regardless of which source library is added to. no big issue.

can give examples as needed.

could you follow the steps here for enabling debug logging - restarting the server and then trying to reproduce the problem - perhaps with a small test library. Then get screenshot and the Plex Media Server.log and Plex Media Scanner.log files (including Plex Media Scanner.n.log files)

It returned a stored image which was suspect leading to the error 500
We do not know when this image was stored in the cache
One suggestion is to clear the cache for thetvdb agent and re-scan

The one that needs to be cleared is for thetvdb agent

After you clear the agent http cache, move the media files/folders out, update the library. empty trash and then move the media back and update the library
If problem persists, please get screenshots, and zip of all the logs

If you have cleared the thetvdb agent cache following steps on this support page
Clearing Plugin/Channel/Agent HTTP Caches

Then I would like to see all the logs after the first library update - see below

Shutdown Plex Media Server (Exit system tray plex icon popup)
Clear thetvdb cahe (deleting C:\Users\roof\AppData\Local\Plex Media Server\Plug-in Support\Caches\com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb
Move the media files/folders for Breaking Bad out of D:\PLEX\TV\x265 TV\Breaking Bad
Do Library Update
At the end. Empty Trash
Move media files / folders for Breaking Bad back into D:\PLEX\TV\x265 TV\Breaking Bad
Do Library Update
At the end - wait a couple of minutes and if no posters / images, get a screenshot - showing the time please and zip the logs including both the Logs and Log\PMS Plugin Logs

As the cache is cleared it will probably re-fetch all images

the correct answer was: appears to be an issue w/ PhotoTranscoder plugin: previously cached or new Thumbnails it ignores & sets Thumbnail to 1x1 pixels instead of clearing cache & looking thru Media & / or looking online,…

What we are looking for are some errors / exceptions may be, on the first scan for the media when there is no cached images - perhaps in the com.plexapp.system.log com.plexapp.agents.thetvdb.log files when matching the episodes with thetvdb info and then fetching banners / posters / fanart etc

I do not think there is a function for automatic clearing of the cache within Plex Media Server - I am sure it is something that would be considered as part of cache management and dealing with corrupted cached data
