I’ve looked and I don’t think this has been posted. If I’m wrong, I apologise.
My issue relates to watching ANY content via the Plex app on the new 2021 Apple TV 4K. I literally just replaced an old Apple TV 1080p (maybe version 3?). I love how much faster the new Apple TV is, and the remote is absolutely an improvement. However, whilst the content is playing, if I tap to the right on the remote, or to the left on the remote, the 15 sec skip fwd (or 10 sec skip back) symbols are displayed, but the movie/TV show doesn’t skip forward or back. Regular fast forwarding and frame searching all works. However, I can’t get it to “skip” forward or backwards.
Everything is running the most up-to-date- software versions, including the Plex media server. I have a feeling this might just mean the Plex app needs updating for the new Apple hardware, but wanted to check here first.
OK - did that. Same thing. It skips forward and back just fine on Netflix and Hulu. After restarting it I downloaded and tried those apps. Still no dice on the Plex app. I deleted the app and reinstalled it. Still no dice
Having the same issue. I can’t find a way to “skip” or “seek” episodes in a season for example. Pressing back or forward or swiping on the directional pad only fast forwards or rewinds second by second or 10sec intervals. Similar to jog wheel behavior or holding the directional button down.

Apple TV showing no controls, no UI conventions, etc neither on screen or in sub menus. Maybe I just don’t understand the Apple TV UI conventions in this area. Do you really have to go back to the main series season page then select the episode each and every time?
There doesn’t seem to be any way at all to navigate episodes in a season without having to go back to the main season screen and manually select. Really bizarre UI behaviour. It’s even weirder when you shuffle a season because you have to keep going back to the main seasons page whenever you want to skip to the next episode.
