10-Second Skip Broken?

Sometime in the last couple of days, the 10-second skip forward/backward on my Apple TV 4K (1st gen, not the new one). And interestingly enough, the scrubber has picked up a new appearance as you can see in the attached photo.

10-second skip still works (and the scrubber looks “normal”) in other apps. Restarting the Apple TV and server had no effect. Any idea what’s happening and if it’s fixable?

Server Version#: 1.23.4.4805
Player Version#: 7.20 (422)

That looks a bit like the Android TV client… did you by chance install/run Plex directly on the Sony?

Nope, that’s Plex running on an Apple TV.

Update: I uninstalled and reinstalled the Plex app… issue persists

What version of tvOS do you have installed on that device (e.g. public release vs. tvOS 15 beta)?

tvOS 14.6 (18L569)

Yes, the recent 15 update did this. It is now a tap instead of a click. However that behaviour reverts to a click sometimes, lol.

tvOS 15 beta is more like an alpha.

Well @Fatalmuzza… this led to a discovery: even though I’m still on tv OS 14, I now need to tap instead of click to get the 10-second skip!

I actually prefer this lol - just had no idea that the change had been made.

Really? not sure how you got this on iso14. Mine immediately changed after updating to new 15 beta.

Just a taping is going to lead to accidentally skipping

Personally I prefer to tap vs. click, but obviously that’s just a matter of preference.

It does seem weird for Plex to movie from click-to-skip to tap-to-skip after all of this time though, especially since no other tv OS apps seem to work that way - however, I’d wager it’s just a bug and won’t be around long. Time will tell.
