2740 - Remove the Windows AppData path...?

Server Version#: 1.19.3.2740
Player Version#:

Just saw this in the release notes:
(Security) Remove the Windows AppData path preference from the web app (#11355)

What does this mean?

Is it the field: “The path where local application data is stored”, where you can set the directory for Plex data?

Thanks

Yes. It is a security risk to expose this in the web app, so it is removed.
Here are the updated instructions if you want to change the location of the Plex data folder: [HowTo] An extended guide on how to move the Plex data folder on Windows

Thanks, @OttoKerner

I have no problem with the Windows registry but will the value currently stored be honored? Mine points to E:\Plex.

Of course. After all, it is already stored in the registry, in that branch and key.

Sure

Many thanks!

I understanding removing this option for secuirty reasons. But put the options in the installer then so you can set your folder location there on a fresh install. Or give the option on the right click menu of the icon in the traybar. Sometimes the plex data can get too big and needs moving of your main drive.

You can still move it. I gave the instructions above.
