I have to agree with you here. IIRC it’s initial implementation didn’t even have a play queue or a shuffle button.
I’ve come back to it recently and it works fine for the most part except the sync refuses work after restarting/deleting/reloading etc. basically everything I can think of. Issues with syncing large libraries seems to be a common problem with the mobile app.
I’m quite baffled at how doing a one-way sync of a bunch of static files can be so damn difficult.
The prospect of having a DIY spotify/play music where I can just cache my entire library locally is REALLY enticing but with Plex it’s just not there yet.
Additionally the mobile app doesn’t seem to remember my view preferences which is frustrating because I hate tile views lol.
on the server, go to the Music Library settings (Music>Manage Library>Edit>Advanced) and uncheck the box that says “Store Track Progress”
Agreed, this is annoying. But for things like this, make a feature request, same with most of the rest of your post. “Make a more robust Music Experience” and request these features added…
I have gone back to Subsonic and it’s great, disappointing plex results and the list I created it’s nothing advanced, it’s just basic ingredients in making stable app for music play
