3 Digit Season

Server Version#: 4.51.3
Player Version#: 4.51.3

So I have most of the MasterClasses but it seems as soon as I hit 100 ‘seasons’ Plex doesn’t interpret anything > 99 properly. Is there something I am doing wrong? Most things up to 99 seem to work fine.

Let me know, thanks!

How are your files and directories structured and named?

Do you have Season 1, Season 99, Season 107 folders?

Are you using ShowName SxxxEyyy.mp4 file naming?

I don’t have any shows with over 100 seasons. I’ve noticed that for shows with 100 (actually 120-something) episodes, it can be helpful to use three-digit formatting, with leading zeroes, for every episode. Perhaps the same is necessary for seasons.

Thanks for the quick response.

Here is the folder structure: 2021-03-17_00-11-05

Files: 2021-03-17_00-12-06

I’m immediately suspicious of the 100x01 episode numbering, and if that will be matched. I’m pretty sure the legacy scanner didn’t accommodate 3-digit seasons with that format.

If you renumber those to sXXXeYY does that help?

You could also test the new beta TV Series scanner and give feedback there.

[BETA] New Plex TV Series Scanner

(Edit - your filenames don’t conform to Plex’s recommended naming, but I think the big problem is the episode numbering scheme.)

Someone else reported a similar problem in January. This thread might help:

That seems to have worked (Changing to sXXXeYY)

Thank you muchly!

You may have to use 3 digits for all seasons, in season folder names and episode names.

As @Volts mentions, you must use Plex naming standards.

  • Season Folders are Season 009, not Season 9 - Deadmau5....
  • Episode names are MasterClass - sxxeyy - optional_info_ignored_by_Plex.ext, not Salman Rushdie....100x01....

Using JellyFish test files in lieu of actual episodes:

Thank you. One more question. Did the artwork update automatically for you or did you have to do it manually?

The show and season artwork updated automatically. It obviously did not pull any episode cover art.

The screenshots are using the current TV scanner. Beta scanner had the same results.

Edit: I just checked Season 9, and Plex did pull cover art. Not sure why it did not for Season 100.

Using the same JellyFish files for Season 9 as used for Season 100. This is using the beta scanner.
