I’ve got a few 3D movies i’d like to put on my plex desktop. I’m just wondering how to best name them so they’re properly tagged title wise (for meta info) and flagged as 3D if that’s possible.
There’s no specific tagging (or distinction) for 3D movies. If you want to establish such a distinction inside your library you could establish a dedicated 3D library or manually extend the movie name after adding it to your library.
If you have a „regular“ and 3D version of the same movie in the same library Plex will merge them by default and add an indicator to the poster to highlight there’s different versions of that item. The version selector will however only show some basic quality parameters — it will not show which one is a 3D version. From what I’ve seen, a number of users are therefore splitting this merged item to give the 3D version a different poster.
This is exactly what I did. It just made sense to keep them separate from the regular movies.
Guess i have no choice but to do it that way. Hope Plex gets some type of support soon though for [3D] tag or whatever.
