4,000+ chunk-stream0-*.m4s in PlexMediaServer folder

Server Version#: 1.14.1.5488
Player Version#: 3.77.4

Hi,
On my QNAP, there are more than 4,000 files named:

chunk-stream0-00068.m4s
chunk-stream0-00069.m4s

chunk-stream1-03343.m4s

They are placed directly at /share/CACHEDEV1_DATA/.qpkg/PlexMediaServer, which to me seems like the root installation folder or the Plex Media Server.

As the location is a bit odd, can I just delete those files?

Thanks,
Roman

Hey,
I’ve come across the same thing here… 6.4GB in nearly 15,000 “chunk…” files - some with m4s extension and some without an extension.
I’m really tempted to delete them…
Did you? Did it have any effect?
Does anyone know if they are safe to delete?

Thanks

Hi,
I am still waiting for an answer. Until then, I am hesitating to delete although it is very likely that it will not have any effect.
If you go first, please let me know if it breaks anything.
Regards,
Roman

Shutdown the server and clean it out.
They are left over from aborted/crashed transcoder jobs.

Thank you, stranger from the Internet.

I deleted the files and everything seems to work as normal.
