Amazon fire stick 4K Compared to the 4K roku it has a lot more clutter that can’t be removed so going straight to your app is more of a chore however it does have one feature that is better and thus worth dealing with you can stretch 4:3 video content on plex to 16:9 it does it automatically after changing the setting and doesn’t Inter fear with the other 16:9 video files
Not sure what you mean. The Plex Android app on the Fire TV does not convert anything. It will scale for anamorphic content if the file in encoded that way. The Roku should do the same.
Sorry shouldn’t use convert changed to stretch
Again, the app doesn’t stretch, it is displaying it at the size defined in the file.
Unless you’ve modified your Fire TV and running the mobile version of the app, which can stretch to fit the screen.
You can stretch the bejebus out of 4:3.
The FireTV has 3 viewing options in the new player:
… and here’s what happens to them - if ur not careful:
Murdering the Aspect Ratio may be fun - until it does something unexpected.
I’ll stick with Letterbox.
I have no issues with Black Bars - I watch the content, not the bars.
Oh I’m wrong.
I never even noticed these options on Android TV.
Anyways, the player in the Roku doesn’t support being able to do this.
I didn’t either until that confounded @FordGuy61 informed me…
Now I’m vindicated, having done for you…lol
No - The Roku has no such foolishness.
