Some of my channels are still in SD. Not many of them but some of them still are. My HDHomerun app has a button to push to fill the screen up on SD channels. It would be nice if this would be possible on the plex apps for android and roku. I know the PMP can do this. but roku and android apps do not. As far as i can tell.
Videos on those clients should be scaled to fit the screen. However if you have a 16:9 screen and your content has a different aspect ratio, there’s going to be some black bars. Without those, you’ll either cut content away or distort the picture.
Edit: missed to say it works fine for me on my Plex for Android client (TV)
I agree with the OP… a non-linear stretch like in Kodi/SPMC would be awesome!
I love how kodi does the 4:3 to 16:9 and PMP does it also. It is not a huge deal breaker for me, but my wife really hates the black bars. lol
