Ive watched the first two episodes of a show that are 4k Dovi MP4 files, when I clicked onto the 3rd episode which is the same format it says ‘file is unplayable, colour space not supported’. It’s saying this on all my 4k content all of a sudden. Files I’ve watched recently on the same tv and with the same set up have just begun to say colourspace not supported. Anybody know if there’s an issue with an update or something?
I’ve only updated the server this morning to the below version, the issue was present before and after the update. Seems like no Dolby vision content is working, HDR10 content working fine…
To be clear… items I’ve already watched… are now no longer working. Multiple items from multiple folders so I know it’s not just a corrupt folder.
Server Version#: 1.28.2.651
Player Version#:5.1.2
LG CX TV APP
I have experienced the same thing. Game of Thrones in DV says Color space not supported on my 4k tv now. I tried to convert it to a compatible version using the transcoder and get an error of Invalid Metadata.
Same issue here, on PMS 1.28.0.5999 (can’t upgrade due to the Intel iGPU transcoding bug on 1.81 and higher). DoVi content plays back and looks fine except on LG CX tv’s, where it does not show up as HDR (just 4K).
Interesting so it’s just LG TV? I don’t have any other DOVI screens so I’ve only tried to watch those items on the LG CX.
As I said it worked fine for ages but just stopped syluddenly.
I have a Vizio TV and get the same thing. If I use the built in chromecast it will play but just comes in green and messy. I also get it with my PS5 its an issue with both platforms. I assume it likely had something to do with the DV profile in use as some items play but only show up as HDR10 while other just give the color space error. I tried to convert one file using some tools but then it just played green and messed up.
NOT fixed
same dovi mp4 file can be played on my LG C1 but failed with UH9500 (through PLEX server win64).
same dovi mp4 file can be played on UH9500 with LG DLNA server.
Since I have played dovi files with LG UH9500 for over 5 years, I’m 100% sure this bug is caused by recent updates.
With all the posts in this thread, it’s seems that this bug affected most of hte early LG DOVI TVs including CX / C9 / UH9500 but not C1/C2.
