4K DV support on Google TV w Chromecast + Fire TV Stick 4K?

Will we ever get 4K DV support on Google TV w Chromecast + Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K? I know we can on the Apple TV 4K and the Nvidia SHIELD TV Pro. That’s the only thing holding me back on those 2 devices, they’re great for everything else.

My personal advice would be just shell out for either the Shield or Apple TV. I have had nothing but a mess issues with my Google Chromecast with Google TV because it lacks the ability to handle a number of file types. I found that it would constantly force my server to transcode because of various incompatibilities. It also in my experience really struggles to decode any file over about 15Mbps. Big 4K files on it were basically a no go. I personally use it now for my bedroom TV to watch TV shows that I have on Plex. I use an Nvidia Shield on my home theater television. My brother uses an Apple TV on his and has had no issues even though its an older Apple TV

I actually haven’t had any problems (*knocks on wood) with Plex/Google TV and normal files. Even the one 4K DV mkv rip I made (no compression done on that one) plays fine, just no DV. I do really like the integration with YouTube TV, wished the SHIELD TV had that functionality of it. I only “watch” movies at bedtime (like 10-30 minutes), so I’ll have to see if it pays to upgrade to the next SHIELD TV Pro. Prob not for my usage. I was just hoping there might be future updates to both devices since they work great with DV on every other app that supports it. Just not Plex.
