I just bought the new Chromecast with Google TV. So far so good except 4K. All my h265 files in 4k throw the “An error occured while attempting to play this video. please check your connection and try again”. They play fine on Roku and on Fire stick 4K. Also they play on the Chromecast for Google TV Emby app.

Your file may not have an audio stream that is compatible with the Chromecast.
Then it wouldn’t work with Emby either.
OK. I may have needed to do more testing before I posted. 4K video does work, but not with DTS. DTS on any video will not play regardless of the resolution.
After more testing it looks like subs were automatically burning. I turned off subs for all videos and it is now playing 4k with DTS fine.

I am having the exact same issue. 4k content with DTS is failing to play on my new chromecast with google TV. Where did you disable subs? I wasn’t able to find the setting.

Is it direct playing DTS? I haven’t been able to get that to work. What are your audio settings in the Plex app?
Sorry guys. No it still didn’t work. I was very tired when I was testing it and got turned around in the settings. I gave up on Chromecast and bought an Nvidia Shield Pro.
