I want to summarize my problems:
Type of TV: Sony Bravia 55x8096 (wireless, AC, 866Mbit/s)
Type of NAS: QNAP TS-230 (wired, 1Gbit/s)
Type of playing: Direct play
Type of Network: ASUS RT-AX58U (5GHz, AX/AC, wired: Gbit/s)
The 4k movies are lagging, which are more than bitrate ~72Mbit/s. As I see, it is not important that these are 264 or 265. Only the 4k movies, the 1080p are perfect, but the statistics of the router showing, that the network throughput under the buffering is the same: ~72Mbit/s. I tested it with another NAS types (QNAP, Synology, RPi, PC, Windows), actually I have a QNAP TS-230. It is powerful enough for the direct play of the 4k movies, but it seems that the TV can not receive so many datas through the network. It is not important that the TV is on wired (100Mbit/s) or on WiFi (AC, 5GHz, 866Mbit/s).
If I play the same movie on my Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ in the same network, the buffering is ~250Mbit/s. If I use Emby Media Server (!), the caching/buffering (monitored on my ASUS router) loads 32MBytes/s in a few seconds, and the 4k movies are running perfect, without lagging. But, if I use Plex Media Server on the same NAS with the same TV, the troughput in the buffering phase are only ~4MB/s mostly, but sometimes ~72Mbits/s (~9MBytes/s). It is not enough for most 4k movies, they need more than 80Mbit/s! From server side, the load is only 1-4% in the processor.
The bottleneck is, as I see, is not in the NAS, not in the TV, not in the network, but on the Plex client software installed on the TV. It seems, that the Plex app doesn’t handle the network possibilities of the Android TV.
Can you help me please? Which datas do you need for the investigation?
