My 4k home videos are stored on my nas which i access via my nvidia shield tv. The plex app will play one or maybe two 4k files without a problem but when i try to play a third plex crashes. The shield appears to be unaffected but if i try to play another locally stored video of any resolution the player hangs. If i try to stream from bbc, youtube etc then the video hamgs. Currently i have to reboot the shield and everything is back to normal. Any ideas anyone. This does not happen with kodi through the shield. That works without issue

What kind of videos are you trying to play? Is it with direct play or transcoding? What’s the audio track and do the videos contain subtitles?
Sorted, i clicked analyse on the home movie folder and can now play all of my homemedia files.
