I recently got an Nvidia Shield 2019 Non pro. Since the last few days the movies that I am trying to play are not running at all. Plex crashes to the main screen. This is happening with all media files. I do not think my NAS or the HDD in it are compromised.
Same here. Especially when I try to play 4k content. Instant Plex app crash after 1-5 sec of playback. Content is served from home server.
Return it and get the pro. No problems with that version
Outside return window, sadly. Hopefully Plex Team fixes it sometime soon, otherwise I have useless $150 brick. Literally using $40 Mibox S right now.
Same exact issue, which is terrible given that I literally bought the Shield today for its supposedly great Plex performance.
Player either instantly crashes (new player) or plays a few seconds then stutters/crashes (old player). Most notable on 4k content.
Super disappointed – using the built-in RokuTV Plex (on a TCL TV of all things!) gives me instant DirectPlay no-transcode playback on 4k content. Please please please look into this devs.
Same here , non stop plex crashes, installed emby server and it seems to play all content fine

2020 february, I have the same issue.
I first noticed it with 60 fps gemini man, but now regular 4k hdr movies crash it.
first it starts to drop frames, stutter, than crash (reload the plex app)
the files are correct, the TV native player can play them fine.
any idea?
Return the tube and get the pro. Expensive solution but trust me saves a LOT of headache.
easier to use kodi for 4k remux.
I have a siilar issue. Just got a new 2019 tv pro and the server won’t pick up all media / fill up the “internal” storage of 16gb only.
I installed a 256gb usb 3.1 stick as an “internal drive” before i installed the plex app.
After moving the server location from “internal” to “internal user accessible” the server won’t start up again / simply crash the app.
This app is borderline useless on the flagship device 
Have you guys thought of going factory reset and disabling updates? Then do the proper changes so Plex does not sleep. That worked for me
