4K streaming always have breaks / stalls to any client (windows, firetv, samsung tv app...)

Server Version#: Version 1.32.6.7468
Player Version#: Version 4.115.2 (Plex Web)

I’m struggling with since time ago with no resolution…I’ve munted in the past several plex servers, with raspi and unix devices. With the Lifetime Plex Pass, the current is a Windows 11, with GPUa RX580 and i5 8th gen intel processor and 16GB RAM. Wifi is perfect, with more than 300Mb. , and still now, I cannot stream 4k films (usually with from 15GB up to 80-90GB). All the time, I try it and the client gets breaks every 5-10 seconds. I’ve tried with all combination of options in Server > Transcoder, enabling and disabling them with no succed. In any client, tried on a laptop, iPad Pro, iPhone 13/14, FireTV or Samsung TV Plex App…doesn’t matter, no works.

The only solution I found is to “optimized the content to TV”, but it is too anoying becuase you have to convert all your content and it takes so time…

Please, is there anyone who can help me with that? thanks in advance

Are you having problems when you’re on the same network as your plex server or when you’re remote?

HDR to SDR Tone Mapping

Is the video transcoding?

Monitor via Plex Dashboard → Now Playing + Expanded View.

Your system will struggle to transcode and tone map 4K HDR media.

On Windows based systems, Intel graphics are not supported for hardware accelerated tone mapping (and no support for tone mapping with AMD graphics on any operating system).

If you want to transcode and tone map 4K HDR media on that system, it must use a Nvidia GPU (1050 Ti or better) or run Linux.

yes, same network

yep! it worked, disabling Tone Map 4K HDR, thanks for your help!

Good that it is working now. But for your info. without tone mapping the transcodes might look very washed out.
