I recently acquired a new “immersive audio” album in 4K video with 7.1 audio. It plays fine directly from USB, and when played over my home network (from NAS, via ethernet) using the VLC app. If I try to play it from the same location using Plex, however, the video/audio stutters, at the same points in the video each time. I watched the same video with a stereo audio stream without stuttering. I thought there was a bottleneck in my network due to the 100mb port speed on the TV, but have the same issue when using a USB gigabit ethernet adapter. (I did this after testing all the cabling between router and TV, as well as testing ethernet throughput using iperf3.) Since the issue does not occur except when using Plex, it seems like a Plex issue.
Anyone had something similar? Like I said, I have workarounds, but if it’s a Plex issue, it would be nice to fix it.
