5.1 through stereo speakers - levels are all wrong

Hi, almost all of the content that i get has 5.1 audio but I have a stereo speaker system (just two speakers).

For the most part, voices are very low so I have to turn the sound right up but then there will be an explosion or gunshot that is so loud it makes my house shake.

This happens with the samsung tv player, the web player and the android player.

The multi channel boost does not seem to make any difference.

Has anyone else encountered and overcome this issue and if so, how?

Since you are using a stereo system. Have you attempted to convert your audio 5.1 track to a stereo 2 channel track?

Well, yes, sometimes the audio will be transcoded to stereo on the fly, most of the time itś not though.

I have a large number of videos in this system so manually xcoding them all is not an option

However, I have found a solution of sorts and this may not work for everyone but on my TV, I am able to configure the audio to Optimise the audio output based on the environment that the TV is in. I guess most TV´s wont do this but mine does and it is working well.
