I have the vast majority of my media encoded with DTS 5.1 sound. It's always played beautifully on my home theater setup. However, now that I am taking advantage of Plex on many more TVs around the house on thin clients, I am finding that the dialogue is always way too low, and the sound effects always way too high. I believe this unbalance occurs when the 5.1 audio is transcoded to 2-channel (for the clients hooked up directly to TVs).
It makes night-time movie watching really frustrating, as the volume has to be turned way up to hear the dialogue, then suddenly everyone in the house hears an explosion or background effect/music/whatever.
So my request: boost the impact that the center channel has on transcoded 5.1 to 2-channel audio. Please apply this to all supported clients (Chromecast, Roku, Google TV, etc.).
What clients are you using out of curiousity? All my clients are rokus and I don't think I've noticed an issue with low dialog volume (All my tracks are mostly DTS 5.1 as well).
I will keep my ears open for that next time im watching something on a stereo hookup though.

Vizio Co-Stars, Sony Google TV, and a Roku 2 XS. The Sony, for example, is now hooked up to a sound bar that does the decoding on its own, and it's much better for dialogue. But when it was hooked up directly to the TV, it had the same issue.
