5K full screen choppy playback

Server Version#: 1.19.4.2865 (on Synology DS918+ NAS)
Player Version#: 1.11.0.1215-1d8c460c
Catalina#: 10.15.5

MacBook Pro 16"
i9 2.4 GHz, 64 Giga RAM, Radeon Pro 5500 8Giga Vram

When I play a file (any resolution from low res like 720p to high res like high 4k and codec like h264, h265 and so on… it doesn’t matter) in full screen mode on my external display LG Ultrafine 5K the playback is very choppy.

On the internal display of the Mac no issue

I’ve made some test also on a 5K iMac of a friend and the same issue at full screen (5K resolution) the playback is choppy.
If I resize the window of the app around half of the screen area the playback come back to smooth on both of the Mac.

Thanks for the answer…
I’m not using Safari but the native app Plex for Mac.
With Safari I don’t have issue (visual issue at least!!!).

really sorry in my first post I forgot to underline that the issue is only with Plex for Mac app.

With Safari the playback is smooth nothing to complain.

I think the issue/bug is in the app not in the server.
With iPad app for example I have no issue too, the playback is always smooth.

I’ve attached the new log after having followed your procedure.

Monitoring the GPU of my Mac I’ve noticed that during the playback with Plex for Mac app the usage is always above 70% and the refresh frame rate of the screen is always below 24fps around 22 / 23 fps.

Just to have a comparison, using an other player (Movist Pro where I have not issue) and playing the same file, the usage of the GPU is always below 40% and the refresh rate never drop below 26 / 27 fps.

In both cases I have the Hardware decode enabled.
