I am posting in a related topic in the main forum for Fire TV/Android TV but since I am beta testing as well I figured I should open a thread here so hopefully it will get fixed before the next stable. Every release after 6.13.7 has had some issues with vobsubs dropping (after that was fixed for me starting with the 6.13 releases, 6.12 and older had the same issue) and now with 6.16 releases the client locks up after a while when playing content with vobsubs. The content works perfectly for maybe 10-15 minutes, then vobsubs stop showing up entirely, and nothing happens when pressing the back button. I have to restart the client as it is acting like there is a memory leak bug.
Note that I put 6.16.0.4240 in the title, but only because I made sure to test with the latest beta. This issue has been on-going for a while. I am installing the APK listed as “Amazon Fire OS Devices (armv7a)”.

This happens on everything. Vobsubs will just stop showing after a while.

Have you tried 6.13.7? The only vobsub issue it appears to have on my FIreTV gen3 is the occasional (and thankfully minor) glitches where it looks like one sliver of the image is offset. I’m just leaving it on 6.13.7 until I read patch notes that mention vobsub fixes.

No I haven’t. Thanks for that. This weekend I’m going to put together more samples and logs and logs from the android tv app. I provided one sample already; it’s annoying because I have to give plex the whole media file due to the nature of the bug: Vobsubs disappearing after a while.
OK, clearly nobody that is pushing updates to the Android app uses vobsubs. The 6.17.0.4579 beta is unusable. Someone please test for basic functionality or at least read our feedback or what is even the purpose of having this beta forum?

I posted more samples and logs and times errors occurred in file (gmt and in file time).

Waiting to hear back from @“MovieFan.Plex”
Probably better to tag an actual developer. I mean no disrespect to him but he’s always given me incorrect or outdated information.
