I noticed this problem when performing the following steps:
- Start playing movie (mkv) in Plex for Android TV client
- Notice that default/forced flags are not set properly for one of the subtitle streams
- Delete file from Plex Server (I don’t usually do this. If this step is skipped, I copy w/overwrite in step 5)
- Remux file to fix default/forced flags
- Copy remuxed file to Plex Server
- Probably not necessary, but I waited several hours before the next step. Just listed here for completeness.
- On the Android TV home screen (SHIELD Android TV [2015] in this case), select the previously started title from the recommendations row.
- The following message is display in an Error dialog:
The file associated with this item is not accessible by the server. Please verify that the file exists and the necessary drive is accessible.
- Selecting OK reveals a black screen, from there pressing the back button returns to the home screen.
- Selecting the same title from the Continue Watching row in the Plex client, continues as expected.
I turned on network logging and performed steps 7 - 9 around 5:11 PM PST.
Performing a Force Stop on Plex removes the invalid item from the Recommendations Row and any valid entries are restored after opening and closing Plex.
