Hi all,
I am having issues with the QNAP download link that the server provides when there is an update. Everytime I click on it it downloads the first 5 to 6 Mb but then times out and drops out. This has been happening for the past 6 months.
Does anyone have a work around or fix for this?
Kind Regards
Ryan
Have you tried a different web browser or computer? I just downloaded it and it was fine

Guessing here, but you are using IE as a browser
If so, then right-click on the link, and select “Save as”

I have tried 3 browsers. Firefox, Chrome and Safari. They all do the same thing. I need a fix ASAP or I am going to have to switch.

@ryancostello I think some headway can be made sir. It must be frustrating. Do you have a VPN or use an ISP that’s somewhat unique so to speak? Would you provide us more details? Is there WiFi involved or are you using those browsers somehow loaded onto the QNAP through qnapclub?
When we suggest downloading, we mean hop on a laptop or desktop.
I don’t know anybody who uses 3rd party browsers on their QNAP.

I have a suggestion which will completely remove the browser from the equation
Use wget to pull down the binary package.
The syntax is wget URL-to-download-from
You obtain the URL by finding the package you want then RIGHT-CLICK and copy the location.
Paste this string after the wget on the command line.
[chuck@lizum ~.27]$ cd /tmp
[chuck@lizum /tmp.28]$ wget https://downloads.plex.tv/plex-media-server-new/1.17.0.1709-982421575/redhat/plexmediaserver-1.17.0.1709-982421575.x86_64.rpm

I have resolved the issue. It appears that Downloading in Australia May be the issue. VPN fixes the issue.
Cheers
