7.24 beta: handleStreamRead code 335544539: short read

having problems with the new 7.24 beta that I tried out today on the new Shield 2019. Playing UHD files (normal and DV) produces the following error on the server:

some files start and then sometimes stutter and then the player restarts, while the other movies will simply restart the player without even playing. non dolby vision files that worked before no don’t. I’m on Sony X930E and have not applied the new Shield 2019 hotfix. ideas?

Are you on the SHIELD Tube or Pro? Would you be able to provide the client logs as the server logs don’t really tell us much. Information about grabbing the logs is available here; https://support.plex.tv/articles/201573117-android-android-tv-fire-tv-logs/

I have the tube.

custom made from star wars UHD blu-ray, converted with DVDFab into a single layer Dolby Vision file. this stands out:
MediaCodec found (OMX.Nvidia.DOVI.decode) for video/dolby-vision
[FF] Stream ignored as codec type is unknown.
[FF] Video decoder doesn’t support dolbyvision (video/dolby-vision).

am I somehow converting it wrong?

from normal HDR UHD bluray, crashes after a couple of seconds:
