Playing of UHD content does not work on Shield Tube 2019. the player is crashing all the time, please see the following threads for details and logs files:
@staff what is the reason for the crashes and can it be fixed on the tube without compromising the quality of the video? I need to know asap while I can still return the tube version and buy shield pro.

Im already returning my shield tube having too many issues. Reading a lot of people having trouble with their tube version (crashing, stuttering, freezing) and with the pro version everyone saying its solid and having no issues. Will report back when i get my pro version tonight.
Would be good if Plex could confirm they are having issues with the Nvidia Tube

Well, this thread is a bit of a bummer. I bought the tube last Friday and have a new TV scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. But I may not have a chance to really test it before heading out of town for the Thanksgiving holiday. Plex would easily account for 75% the usage of the device.
Well I can report after buying new nvidia shield pro 2019 and setting it up I have had zero issues with it. Everything works perfectly. So seems like the tube one is having issues. Hope this helps
I confirm that for me Plex is also constantly crashing on my 2019 Shield Tube. Very disappointing.Iit plays smooth even on cheap my Mibox S.
On 2019 Tube Plex just restarts from 5 to 30 seconds into playback.
4K HDR movies are being Direct Played from Unraid server with latest PMS installed (Version 1.18.2.2058) I do also own Plex PASS.
Is this being looked into?
they are looking into it, but I have returned my Tube while I still could and replaced it with the pro version. I suggest you do the same, overall performance is much better, the tube could do with an extra gb of RAM.
