Then fix match on this “new” series and manually select 9-1-1. The new series will disapear and the 2 episodes will be added to 9-1-1 as season 4
I am having the same issue. It’s happening with a few series. When you search for Ep, that’s already in an existing Match’ed folder, it’s not adding it to the correct show. Sometimes, even the search isn’t returning the correct show (when not searching my TheTVDB number).
For 9-1-1:
Even though 9-1-1 exists already, S04E01 (and each week later) shows as unmatched.
Search for 9-1-1 using TheTVDB only returns 9-1-1: Lone Star.
Matching it the The Movie DB creates a new series. Unmatch.
Unmatched both versions. Rescan Library. Searching by TheTVDB # found 9-1-1, matched. All files are good. Waiting for S04E03 to see if that fixed it.
It’s also doing this for every episode of The Bachelor (2002). I just unmatched and searched with TheTVDB number and matched. We’ll see if it keeps that data with the folder and recognizes the next Ep.
See below
I think I know what you mean but I have done that numerous times and still does not appear with mail folder.
911 shows up as two tv shows, correct?
Show 1 is season 1 - 3 and Show 2 is season 4.
Move your mouse over the show poster for Show 2. Click on the three vertical dots in the lower right corner. Select Fix Match from the menu.
In the Fix Match window, use the series ID from TheTVDB.com instead of the show name. Leave the date empty.
It should match things correctly, then combine them into one listing.

I tried that numerous times but still remained separated. Just tried once more and now it only brings up 9-1-1: Lone Star and it changed the main title to 9-1-1: Lone Star but all the covers for each season are for 9-1-1.
This is a problem with Plex. I am not a new user. I have been using Plex daily for over 5 years and here is my stats:
72 users
10,016 movies
625 tv shows 33,205 episodes
Did you try searching with the series ID?
TheTVDB is making changes to their systems. This is causing matching problems for Plex. Plex is working on a fix. Using the series ID is the workaround until Plex has an available fix.
Additional details:
Engineering has released a hot fix for this and another issue.
PMS 1.21.2.3943 is being deployed to Beta (PlexPass) now.
Please watch for it .
Installed 1.21.2.3943 Restarted PMS, re-matched 2 episodes did not work.
Next I removed 2 season 4 shows from folder, Rescanned TV library which removed them from DB.
Replaced shows and they once again started a new folder.
Tried once more with a fix match still not working.
Process below was necessary after updating to 1.21.2.3943 to Fix problem and all is working correctly now:
Removed 9-1-1 and also 9-1-1: Lone Star from drive.
Rescanned and removed entry from PMS for both.
Restarted PMS
Replaced 9-1-1 entire season to HD and all where together labeled correctly.
Repeated process with 9-1-1: Lone Star and it is good also.
So it appears all is working properly now.
Also looking good here!
